GREAT NEWS!

Protection is now possible for key areas
and the beautiful mountain ranges within the Western Desert.  The Arizona Sonoran Desert Heritage Act includes the Belmont Mountains, Saddle Mountain, Gila Mountains, and a dozen more interconnected wildlife areas.

Today, preservation makes good sense - in advance of future growth.  Many large-scale master planned communities are already approved - roads and parkways too.  Now
we can protect the region’s jewels so future generations can learn about, and enjoy, these unique natural areas.

Much like Apache Junction has the Superstition Wilderness area - the cornerstone of their community; Tonopah has Saddle Mountain and Belmont Mountains that
deserve similar long-term protection.

The benefits are many - free recreation areas, increased home values, conserving
Luke AFB flight corridors, plus preserving the region’s fragile environment for the unique wildlife and plants.

Additionally, the price is FREE!  Unlike Phoenix and Scottsdale that had to purchase land for ‘Preserves’ the Bureau of Land Management property just needs designations that will preserve these scenic jewels.

National Conservation Areas will provide off-highway vehicle access and varied recreation activities while Wilderness designation allows the land to remain natural.  Members of the Western Desert Association have reviewed the proposal at key stages and support the Arizona Sonoran Desert Heritage Act!

Saddle Mountain is one example
of a fragile area
that desperately needs better protection for enjoyment
by future generations.
